What this looks like in practice
The Academy aligns its practice with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the requirements set out by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian.
Studios, performance spaces and changing areas are organised so that children are visible, supervised, and respected at all times.
All teaching staff working with children hold the relevant Working With Children clearances required in NSW.
We encourage children and young people to speak up if anything concerns them, and we take every concern seriously.
Staff follow documented procedures for supervision, communication, photography, and incident reporting.
Raising a concern
Children, parents, carers and staff are encouraged to raise any safety concern directly with Brett or Maree Lucas. All concerns are taken seriously and handled confidentially.
In an emergency, or if a child is at immediate risk of harm, please contact NSW Police on 000 or the NSW Child Protection Helpline on 132 111.
